The iPad 2 was announced in March 2011, coming in thinner by 33% and 15% lighter than the original iPad. Front- and rear-facing cameras were added, allowing the iPad to make use of Apple’s FaceTime video calling software. The iPad 2 featured a gyroscope and upgraded to the A5 mobile processor.
