Briefly reversing the “thinner” trend, Apple’s 3rd-generation iPad was slightly thicker and a bit heavier than the iPad 2. The 9.7” display was updated to Apple’s Retina designation, measuring 2048×1536 pixels at 264 pixels-per-inch. The rear camera was upgraded to 5 megapixel and added support for 1080p HD video at 30 frames per second.
