The 4th generation Apple iPad was introduced in October 2012, replacing the 3rd-gen model that was announced earlier that same year. The 4th-gen iPad was the first iPad to make use of the thinner, more versatile Lightning connector. Apple expanded the high-end storage range to 128GB and upgraded the front-facing camera to 1.2 megapixels, allowing video capture at 720p.
