The iPad Air, introduced in October 2013, came in almost 1/10th of an inch thinner and 1/2 lb. lighter than the previous iPad model. Many of the display and camera hardware specs were otherwise the same as the 4th-generation iPad, while the internal processor was updated to the A7 chip.
